Nanfang College of Sun Yat-sen University was jointly established as an independent college by Sun Yat-sen University and the Guangdong Pearl River Investment Inc., under the approval of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. It is a tertiary institution providing full-time study for Bachelors students of 17 different majors.
  Located in Conghua city, a suburb of Guangzhou, the campus covers an area of 1000 mu, (approximately 165 acres). The college has planned to build a total floor space with a capacity of 460,000 square meters, in which 313,400 square meters have been completed and put into services. There are well-equipped

classroom buildings, laboratories, indoor and outdoor sport areas, as well as a multiple-purpose library, in which there is a collection of 400,000 books as a well as 685 periodicals, 159 categories of newspaper and nearly 3,000 kinds of CD-ROM resources. It can also share the huge resources of 1.46 million E-books in the e-library of Sun Yat-sen University. The advanced infrastructure of the college has laid a solid foundation for improving the level of teaching, research, and management which benefits both the staff and students.
